Gurugram Police busted Fake Lab, Two caught for COVID-19 test report forgery.

Even as the third wave of coronavirus pandemic sweeping through the nation, Haryana Police apprehended two persons for forging COVID-19 reports in a fake lab at Sainikhera village in Gurugram Sector-30.

The accused have been identified as Anirban Roy, a native of Kolkata and Parimal Roy, a resident of Murshidabad. The duo was running the fake lab at a rented facility. The duo reported having forged over 1000 COVID-19 test reports.

Speaking to the media persons, Drug  Controller Officer Amandeep Chauhan said the Chief Minister’s Flying Squad had received a complaint about a lab by the name of “Medikartz Pathology Lab & Medical Tourism” giving forging COVID-19 reports.

The Flying Squad led by DSP Inderjit Yadav and District Inspector Harish Budhiraja was tipped-off about the fake pathology lab. As the flying squad sent one of their personnel in disguise of a customer asking for false positive report. The lab readily gave the report.

In the course of investigation, the duo also told the police that they have tie-up with “Dynex Diagnostics and Path Lab” located at Kirti Nagar in Delhi. They forged reports on their letterhead and had no permission to conduct COVID-19 tests from District Health Department. Another team raided Dynex Diagnostics and Path Lab late on Saturday night.

The duo further divulged that they were engaged in forgery for the past two months. They charged from Rs 1400 to Rs 3000 both fake positive and negative reports. Some used the fake negative reports to travel abroad while others got positive reports to apply for leave from office.
