Two Sadhus killed, one falls sick in Mathura, UP.

Two Sadhus killed while one was referred to the district hospital in critical condition after some unidentified person reportedly laced their tea with poison in Mathura no November 21. The Sadhus were living at an Ashram in a jungle behind Giriraj Baag of Goverdhan Kasba in Mathura for the past 1-year.

The Sadhus were going about their routine meditation and rituals when they suddenly fell sick and two of them died dead soon after on Saturday morning. As the matter was reported to the Police, local Station House Officer Pradeep Kumar arrived at the scene with personnel.

Bodies of the two deceased Sadhus identified as Gopal Das and Shyam Sundar Das were sent for post-mortem while one Ram Babu Das was admitted to District Hospital. Sadhu Shyam Sundar Das reportedly in critical condition.

Brother of deceased Sadhu Gopal Das, Tikam alleged that Sadhus were poisoned to death as the smell of drugs   was all over the Ashram. Police suspect that the tea must have been laced with poison.  District Collector and SSP have also inspected the crime scene.   

District Collector Sarvagya Ram Mishra verified the incident and said the Sadhu Shyam Sundar Das undergoing treatment was in a healthier state and they were trying to get details from him. SSP Gaurav Grover told that police was reported about three Sadhus, who lived at the Ashram, fell sick and two of them died for some yet to be ascertained reasons. Prima-facie the Sadhus had tea made of milk taken from the cow of Ashram and other ingredients were also sourced locally. The crime scene was probed as many teams began the investigation.
