Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Nov 23
The ultras eliminated by security forces in Chhattisgarh’s insurgency-hit Kanker district were identified as hardcore cadres carrying cash reward ranging from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 8 lakh.
“The slain naxal cadres were identified as Jyoti, Badru and Guddu, all members of PLGA Company Number-5. Jyoti was carrying cash reward of Rs 8 lakh while the government had announced Rs 5 lakh each on Badru and Guddu,” stated a senior police officer.
The officer further informed that three weapons including one SLR and one X-95 were recovered from the spot of encounter. “The recovered X-95 weapon was looted by naxals after an ambush on BSF troops in Raoghat area in 2018,” stated the officer.
Notably, at around 8 am on November 23, three ultras were gunned down in an exchange of fire. One SSB Head Constable Aman had suffered minor injuries during the action. He is out of danger and being treated in Antagarh PHC Hospital.
