Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Nov 23
A team of Sashatra Seema Bal (SSB) on Monday gunned down as many as three insurgents, including a female cadre, in an encounter that took place in Maoists-hit Kanker district of Chhattisgarh.
A head constable of SSB suffered injuries in the encounter, said police sources.
The security personnel undertaking patrolling entered into a gunfight at around 8 am in a restive area of the district, informed police sources.
According to police sources, while undertaking search at the spot of encounter, security personnel recovered bodies of three ultras, including a woman cadre, clad in uniform. Besides, the SSB personnel also recovered an X-95 rifle, one SLR rifle and a country-made weapon from encounter site. A probe has been launched to identify the slain naxals.
The head constable, who was injured in the encounter, was admitted to a hospital in Antagarh, added sources.
