In a major breakthrough, Uttar Pradesh Police on November 23 busted unit manufacturing spurious foreign brand protein supplements in the state’s Muzaffarnagar district.
“An ’UNHEALTHY NEXUS’, ‘Worked Out’ @muzafarnagarpol unearthed a racket of manufacturing spurious foreign brand protein supplements, arresting 3 accused A factory was seized where fake supplements were made & supplied throughout the country. Kudos!,” tweeted UP Police.
“Police have busted a factory unit indulged in manufacturing of fake supplements. Police have arrested three persons and seized fake supplements to the tune of around Rs 1.50 crore,” stated a senior police officer, elaborating that around 1.50 lakh wrappers of popular brands were seized from the factory during the raid.
Police sources further informed that the arrested were identified as Zuber Alam, Mohammed Arsi and Aamil. In preliminary police investigation, the accused trio disclosed that they had been selling fake supplements in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Haryana. Investigation is underway to find out bust the entire network indulged in the illegal business.
