PM Modi reviews COVID-19 situation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday reviewed the COVID-19 situation in the nation and spoke about the Coronavirus vaccine, saying it is up to the scientist to decide when the vaccine will be released in meeting with the Chief Ministers of 8 States.

Prime Minister Modi said that some people may be playing politics on the issue of the pandemic, but they can’t stop anyone from doing politics. Punjab Chief Minister skipped the meeting. Besides, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot apprised that now they are conducting 100 per cent RT-PCR test, in addition to the steps like night curfew, mask social distancing etc taken to prevent the spread of contagion.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banarjee raised the issue to due GST and demanded Union Government release the due GST money to the states. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thakery informed that he had formed a task force, which is working on setting up distribution network for coronavirus vaccine. They are also in contact with the Serum Institute.

Also attending the meeting, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal demanded 1000 additional ICU beds from Union Government and appealed the Prime Minister to interfere on the issue of pollution in Delhi.
