One of the topmost Iranian nuclear physicists Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was shot dead while he was travelling in his vehicle in a suburb of eastern Tehran, Absard on November 27, 2020.
Mohsen led the Iranian nuclear programme, which was later dissolved in the first half of the 2000s. Iran’s Foreign Ministry stated, terrorists shot Fakhrzizadeh in his vehicle, and he later succumbed to the injuries in a local hospital. He met a martyr’s end. Reportedly, three or four attackers ambushed his vehicle and many of them were also killed in the action.
Fakhrizadeh headed the Research and Innovation Organization when he was shot. Iranian Foreign Ministry straightway blamed Israel for the attack while Israel has refused to comment. Israel was also suspected in a string of killing of nuclear scientists a decade ago.
In January of 2020, an Iranian General Qasem Soleimani was killed in a US drone strike on his way to Baghdad Airport. Qasem led the Iranian Quds Forces.
