A man was arrested in Thane city of Maharashtra for allegedly possessing a revolver in a illegal way.
Acting on a precise tip-off, police have arrested a 24-year-old man identified as Nazish Anwar Siddiqui from Mumbra township on charges of possessing a country-made revolver in a illegal way, said police sources.
The accused was arrested in wee hours on Saturday following a tip-off, added police sources.
“Based on the received tip-off, police patrolling team entrusted with the task of keeping close vigil spotted the man and rounded him up. During investigation the accused failed to furnish documents supporting the firearm,” said police sources.
In offence in this connection was registered with Mumbra police station under relevant sections of Arms Act and the Maharashtra Police Act, informed police sources.
