Land worth Rs 100 crore made free from encroachment during the drive

Launching a massive campaign against encroachment, Bhopal district administration along with the team of Municipal Corporation and local police has succeeded in making land close to Bhopal Rail Junction free from the encroachment.
According to the local authorities around 20000 square feet area close Bhopal Rail Junction was made encroachment free on November 28. The estimated market value of this 20000 sq feet land would be around Rs 100 crore. This valuable land was being used illegally by some people for construction of commercial establishments besides being used for other suspicious activities.
With this action, the administration has removed 45 shops operating illegally on the government land, added officials.
Additional Collector Dilip Yadav informed that there was a court case in this regard in which decision was taken in favour of the government. He said that the people residing here were also found to be involved in suspicious activities several times. Despite repetitive action and issuance of notices the encroachment was not removed by the encroachers, following which the action was taken as per the rule.
