Amitabh Jain appointed as Chief Secretary

The 1989-batch IAS Amitabh Jain has been appointed as the 12th Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh on November 30. An order in this regard was issued by General Administration Department.
Jain succeeded incumbent Chief Secretary Rajendra Prasad Mandal who retired on Monday. Jain has worked in important capacities as Additional Chief Secretary, Finance and Water Resources Department.
Jain did his schooling from Dalli Rajhara and completed his MTech in Mechanical Engineering from Raipur.
Chief Secretaries who served the state are as follow:

*Arun Kumar from October 30, 2000 to January 31, 2003.
*A K Mishra from January 31, 2003 to June 30, 2004.
*A K Vijayvergiya from July 1, 2004 to November 7, 2005.
*R P Bagai from November 7, 2005 to January 31, 2007.
*Shivraj Singh from January 31, 2007 to July 31, 2008.
*P Joy Oommen from July 31, 2008 to February 7, 2012.
*Sunil Kumar from February 7, 2012 to February 28, 2014.
*Vivek Dhand from February 28, 2014 to January 11, 2018.
*Ajay Singh from January 11, 2018 to January 2, 2019.
*Sunil Kujur from January 2, 2019 to October 31, 2019.
*R P Mandal from October 31, 2019 to November 30, 2020.
