BJP takes early lead in GHMC polls


Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) takes an early lead as the counting for Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) election 2020 began early Friday morning.

Early trends clearly showing shift in political grounds with BJP leading at 88, TRS on 33, AIMIM 17, Congress 01 and others O as the counting trends of 139 out of 150 seats were going on.

BJP conducted an all start poll campaign with big names like Yogi Adityanath and Devendra Fadnavis running the campaign. BJP even promised free tablets for government school students and Rs 25000 for each family affected by heavy rains, free electricity for up to 100 units, free travel for women/girls in city buses and metro train.

BJP promises Rs 25k for flood victims, tablets for students, free metro rides for women. The BJP, however, resisted from making any promise on Covid-19 vaccines, considering the controversy it stirred in the Bihar polls.
The results will decide the fate of 1122 candidates in 150 wards. Election Commission made elaborate arrangements for counting with the deployment of 8152 employees and 31 observers and installing CCTV cameras to record the counting process at 30 places.
