Department of Information Technology in collaboration with Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, National Institute of Technology Raipur (NIT-RR), organised a one day webinar on Saturday. The topic of the webinar was “Mental Health and Quality of Life of Married Working Women in India.” The event was graced by Padma Shree Phulbasan Yadav and was sponsored by National Commission for Women, India. Eminent speakers from various sectors shared their understandings and opinions on mental health of working women, laws related to their safety and protection, strategies to deal with work related pressure and important research findings on women’s mental well being etc.
The list of speakers included Gopa Sanyal, Sub editor and news reader, Doordarshan Chhattisgarh and All India Radio, Dr G R Sinha, Professor MIIT Myanmar, Neha Yati Mishra, Civil Judge, Rajnandgaon, Dr Shashikala Atulkar, Deputy Director, Employment, Govt. of Chhattisgarh, Dr SL Sinha, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineer, NIT Raipur, Dr Ila Gupta, Professional Psychologist from Raipur and Dr Mridu Sahu, Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology, NIT Raipur. The webinar was live streamed on YouTube and was attended by more than 75 participants on Google Meet.
The event was coordinated by Dr Mridu Sahu, Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology, NIT Raipur and Dr Moksha Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Humanities and Social Science, NIT Raipur. The Chairmen of the webinar were Dr SP Sahu, HoD Department of IT and Dr Sudhakar Pandey, Professor, Department of IT. The student coordinators included Samrudhi Modhiwale, Vikas Dilliwar and Priyanka Batra.
