Rishabh Nagwani of Raipur bagged the 18th Stag Chhattisgarh State Table Tennis Tournament title in the Youth Boys category. Nagwani defeated defeated Rohan Lalwani of Bilaspur in a tough fight by 4-3.
Similarly, R Devanshi of Bilaspur became champion in the Girls Youth category. She defeated her counterpart Ananya Dubey in yet another tough battle by 4-3.
The junior boys and girls events of the tournament will be played on Thursday at Madhav Rao Sapre Higher Secondary School. The matches will start at 9 am. Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce vice president Deepak Ballewar will be the chief guest of the prize distribution function of the junior event while LIC CZIEA general secretary Dharmraj Mahapatra will preside over.
Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh State Table Tennis Association secretary Vinay Baiswade said that association chief advisor Dr Manik Chaterjee was the chief guest of the prize distribution function held for the youth events on Wednesday. Special guest on the occasion was Chhattisgarh Veteran TT Committee chairman Pradeep Janwade. Also present on the dais were Chhattisgarh TT Association Baiswade, chief referee Pradeep Joshi. State Association assistant secretary Vimal Nair conducted the proceedings of the prize distribution function.
