The 17th Junior Chhattisgarh Athletics Championship will be organised at Kota Stadium, Raipur, from December 11 to 13. Chhattisgarh Athletics Association president G S Bhambra and general secretary Radhakrishnan Pillai said that preparations for the athletics championship have been completed. The athletes, coaches, managers and other stake holders will have to undergo a Covid-19 check-up before the participation, they said.
The events that will take place are 5000 mtrs run, Shot Put, High Jump, Triple Jump, 400 mtrs run, 100 mtrs run, Hammer Throw, 1000 mtrs Race Walk and 800 mtrs run. The championship will be held for boys and girls (U-18 and U-20).
Registration for the events will be held on the spot at Kota Stadium. Except Sukma and Kawardha districts, athletes from the remaining 26 districts are expected to mark their presence in the Meet, said Pillai. Around 500 athletes are expected to fight for the medals in the championship, he said.
