100 new English Medium Schools to come up in state

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday said that 100 new Swami Atmanand English Medium Schools will be opened in the state. The Chief Minister stated this at the inauguration of a newly-constructed school at Godaripara in Chirmiri on Saturday.

Baghel said that it is the priority of the government to realize the dreams of the children of poor families to study in good English medium schools and progress. On the demand of the people’s representatives, the Chief Minister said he would send a proposal to the Centre to open a new medical college for medical education in Chirmiri.

Cabinet ministers Dr Shiv Dahria, Dr Premasai Tekam, Umesh Patel, Amarjit Bhagat, MLA Ambika Singhdeo, MLA Dr Vinay Jaiswal, Vice President of Surguja Development Authority Gulab Kamro, Mayor of Municipal Corporation Chirmiri Kanchan Jaiswal were also present.

Chief Minister said that the Chirmiri school could develop like the schools of Mussoorie and Dehradun as natural beauty here are very favourable for this. The Chief Minister said that the government has started 52 such schools in the entire state to provide better education to children of poor families.

Chief Minister reiterated his resolve for the overall development of the entire state including Koriya during the meeting with the local representatives. During the discussion, he said that lack of money will never come in the way of development of the district including Chirmiri, Manendragarh, Baikunthpur.

On the demand of public representatives, the Chief Minister also said to make a plan to develop Chirmiri as a hill station from the point of view of tourism. He also agreed to prepare a detailed action plan for repairing the roads of the district under the state government and construction of new roads.
