Raipur, Dec 12
Shiv Sena Chhattisgarh unit will take out a march in protest against proposed privatisation of Nagarnar Iron and Steel Plant on December 16. The three-day march will commence from Charama and reach the Nagarnar plant after covering various routes and gathering support of tribals, said Shiv Sena Chhattisgarh chief Dhananjay Dewangan in a press conference on Saturday.
Parihar, accompanied by party state general secretary Sunil Nagarkar and Madhukar Pandey, said that said that the Shiv Sena Chhattisgarh unit will take its fight for the rights of tribal to Delhi if Central government make privatization of the plant. They also blamed it on NMDC and said that the NMDC will be solely responsible for the privatization of the plant if held.
The Shiv Sena leaders said that the plant is nearing its completion and is likely to start production by September next year, but the innocent tribal of Bastar feel like cheated due to Central government’s conspiracy to privatize the plant. Parihar said that there should be the ratio of 60:20:20 as far as employment in the plant is concerned. 60 per cent Bastar people should be given opportunity in the plant while 20 per cent from other parts of the state and 20 per cent outsiders. The state government should start training facility for Bastar to make the people here technically efficient and industry-ready, he said.
The Shiv Sena chief said that they will not let a single piece of minerals go outside Bastar if privatization proposal of the plant is given a go ahead. He also cornered the present state government and former government for keeping mum on the issue. “Our national leaders are behind us to push the issue for the sake of Bastar people,” said the Sena state chief.
