First seed Ramji Kumar of Raipur bagged Sub-junior boys title of the 18th Chhattisgarh State Table Tennis Tournament 2020, played at Madhav Rao Sapre Higher Secondary School TT Hall under the aegis of Chhattisgarh Table Tennis Association on Saturday. Kumar defeated his counterpart Karan Malhotra in straight sets by 3-0 in the final. Malhotra had to satisfy with the runner up title.
Similarly, Sushmita Som of Bilaspur defeated Chahak Kataria of Raipur in straights set by 3-0 in the final to become champion in the Sub-junior girls category.
There will be Cadet Boys and Girls event on Sunday. The matches will start at 9 am.
State association vice president Anil Pusadkar was the chief guest of the prize distribution function held for the sub-junior tournament while vice president Giriraj Bagdi presided over. Also present on the occasion were association secretary Vinay Baiswade, chief umpire Pravin Nirapure and Pradeep Joshi.
