Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Dec 15
Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel landed into a controversy after he allegedly made a shocking sexist remark against BJP Rajya Sabha MP Saroj Pandey.
Responding to media recently in Koriya district of Chhattisgarh, CM Baghel alleged to have made derogatory language ‘’Kamar Matka Rahi Thi’ for referring to the dance of MP Pandey during a festival in 2017.
“Chief Minister Baghel is distracted by the two years of failures and two-and-half years of infighting with the party. The Chief Minister has the rich culture of the state as well as women by using derogatory language for referring Sua Dance and he should apologies for it,” stated state president of BJP Mahila Morcha Shalini Rajput.
“Use of such language by a person sitting on responsible post of Chief Minister for his ‘Rakhi’ sister is disgraceful,” said Rajput, adding that Baghel should apologise to the people and women of Chhattisgarh.
It is to be mentioned here that the Chief Minister has made the remark in Koriya district on Saturday while responding to the query of a reporter about Saroj Pandey’s comment that the hat the Congress government in the state was busy singing and dancing during the last two years of its rule. Baghel said, “What was Saroj Pandey ji doing with the then Chief Minister Raman Singh ji and then state Assembly Speaker Dharamlal Kaushik ji in Suva dance function in Durg stadium? Meanwhile, the CM used language like ‘Kamar Matka Rahi Thi’ to refer the dance of Pandey.
“Such a comment made by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel against then CM Raman Singh and MP Pandey showcase his polluted mindset,” said BJP Spokesperson Rajesh Munat.
