The developmental model of Chhattisgarh will be decided when the entire government machinery will gather at Chandkhuri, the birthplace of Mata Kaushalya, on Thursday i.e on December 17. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel-led government will complete two years of its tenure on December 17.
Counting the achievements of the state government in the last two years, State Agriculture Minister and Raipur District In-Charge Ravindra Choubey, on Tuesday, said “The future of the state is bright in the hands of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Development of state will be the only agenda when the government machinery will come under one roof at Chandkhuri to witness a historic occasion at the birthplace of Lord Ram’s mother Mata Kaushalya on December 17. Irrigation, Agriculture, Agriculture based economy, Agriculture based employment will be the key issues which will be on priority when it comes to the development of the state,” said Choubey while replying to queries of media persons.
On the issue of Naxalism, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Choubey said that naxalism is almost finished. “The naxal problem is now limited to a corner of Narayanpur district and Konta in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. But nothing to worry, we will soon overcome it,” said the Minister.
Highlighting various state-run schemes aimed at strengthening the economy of Chhattisgarh people, the minister said the Centre has called the draft of one of the most successful schemes of the state Rajiv Gandhi Nyay Yojana. Similarly, several states have replicated Chhattisgarh’s ambitious ‘Narwa, Garwa, Ghurwa, Bari’ scheme in different names.
The minister also cornered Centre over GST issue and said that the Centre is yet to pay the state’s GST due of Rs 5700 crore. The minister stated this while replying to a question that state is using Central fund in all its developmental projects. The agriculture minister said that the Congress government has been able to conquer the heart of the people of Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has successfully fought for the dignity of Chhattisgarh and fulfilled most of the promises made to the people.
Also present during the press conference were Parliamentary Secretary Vikas Upadhyay, Housing Board Chairman Kuldeep Juneja and Mayor Aijaz Dhebar.
