Sandra Lindsay gets first COVID vaccine dose

A major fight against Novel Coronavirus kicked-off in US on December 14 as healthcare workers started receiving COVID-19 vaccine shots.

Confirming the development, US President Donald Trump tweeted “First Vaccine Administered. Congratulations USA! Congratulations WORLD!”

Sandra Lindsay, a nurse in New York city, was the first person to receive the dose of Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine on morning of December 14.

“This is what heroes look like. Sandra Lindsay, an ICU Nurse at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens, became the FIRST AMERICAN to get vaccinated in a non-trial setting. Thank you Sandra and thank you Dr. Michelle Chester. #NewYorkTough,” tweeted the Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo.

He further tweeted that Today, ICU nurse Sandra Lindsay made history as the first American to be vaccinated. “I felt a huge sense of relief after I took the vaccine… There is hope.”
