District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr Gaurav Kumar Singh on Tuesday reviewed the work of identification of illiterates and volunteers during a meeting. This work is being done in the district under the direction of District Collector and District Literacy Mission Authority Chairman Dr S Bharathi Dasan as part of Central government’s Padhna-Likhna programme.
Dr Singh, who is the vice president of the authority, said that the identification work should be done carefully. He said that the volunteers and employees doing well in the identification work will be recognised on the occasion of Republic Day function on January 26, 2021. The aim of the Padhna-Likhna programme is to achieve total literacy by 2030.
Also present in the meeting were District Project Officer Dr Kamini Bavankar and Dharsiwa development block nodal officer Lokesh Verma and they threw lights on the preventive measures being taken during the work. District Assistant Project Officer Chunni Lal Sharma, Ward Nodal Officer Namita Shrivastav and Vikas Bhaskar were also present.
