Security forces gunned down ultras in Sukma


Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Dec 16
A cadre of banned organised was killed in an encounter that took place in insurgency-hit Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Wednesday.
According to police sources, a joint team of District Reserve Guard and 223rd battalion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) undertaking anti-naxal exercise in forest close to village Miliampalli-Rajpenta in limits of Jagargunda police station entered into a gunfight with ultras during morning hours.
As the guns fell silent, security personnel recovered the body of a naxal clan in uniform and a Under-Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL), said police sources, adding that probe is underway to ascertain the identity of slain naxal.
