The Second case of Love Jihad has been reported from Bijnor of Uttar Pradesh. A 19-year-old Muslim youth was arrested for ensnaring a minor Dalit girl into an affair by concealing his religion with a fake Hindu name and then forcing her into conversion and marriage.

According to Bijnor’s Dhampur Police, a youth named Mohammad Saqib trapped a Dalit girl into an affair in the disguise of a Hindu boy by the name of Sonu. He eloped with the girl and then started coercing her to convert. On the complaint of the girl’s father, police arrested Saqib and recovered the victim girl from Nahtaur town.

Superintendent of Police Rural Sanjay Kumar said the accused has been booked under Sections 363 (punishment for kidnapping), 366 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing a woman to compel her marriage) of the Indian Penal Code, provisions of Pocso (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and the new ordinance against forced and dishonest religious conversion.
