Trinamool Congress (TMC) is seeing a stampede as one more senior party leader and an MLA from Barrackpore of 24 Pargana district Sheelbhadra Dutta also resigned ahead of Home Minister Amit Shah’s West Bengal visit on Friday. It came as a third big jolt for the party after the resignation of Suvendu Adhikari and TMC Asansol  District President Jitendra Tiwari.

Speculations are rife that Dutta will also follow the suit of Suvendu Adhikari and may join Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Sheelbhadra Dutta was unhappy with the way Prashant Kishore was handling the party’s strategy and he described Kishore’s style of working akin to a marketing company.

Mamta Banarjee may see some more of her generals bidding adieu to the party in coming days. Sheelbhadra resigned from all the party posts along with membership. He sees himself misfit in the party, but he didn’t resign from the membership of legislative assembly as he was voted by the people.

Besides these three, TMC leader Kabirul Islam had also quit the minority cell’s general secretary post on Friday. Senior leaders are leaving TMC in droves ahead of 2021 legislative election.

TMC party workers were seen tearing off posters and sloganeering against Jitendra Tiwari, accusing him of betraying Mamta Banarjee.
