National Physical Laboratory (NPL) Director Dr D K Aswal said that India must focus on quality in manufacturing to become self-reliant which is one of the priorities of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Dr Aswal laid emphasis on three things – Accreditation, Precise Measurement and Calibration – to ensure quality in the manufacturing. Dr Aswal stated this in the Lecture Seminar organised by School of Studies in Electronics and Photonics, Pt Ravishankar Shukla University (PRSU), Raipur.
Dr Aswal also stressed on the need for research, symmetry and accuracy.
Dr Aswal said that scientific thinking should be developed among children for self-reliant India. Government, Society, Educational Institutions, Research Institutes etc. can play a pivotal role in developing scientific thinking among children. Instead of degree, youths should be motivated for innovation for the betterment of society.
Dr Aswal is well-known for his model ‘Aswal Model for Inclusive Growth’ will interact with the teachers here. His current focus is to enhance the Metrological capabilities of India at par with international standards for continuous improvement of the quality and safety of life in the country and making CSIR-NPL as a growth engine of the nation by supporting industries and strategic sectors through apex calibration facilities.
