On the nationwide call given by the All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee and the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha, series of tribute meetings for the martyrs of the farmers’ movement is being held. As part of these tribute meetings, a programme was organised in Chhattisgarh on Sunday.
These programs in villages and towns of more than 15 districts, including Surguja, Surajpur, Korba, Marwahi, Rajnandgaon, were covered. Various constituent organisations of Chhattisgarh Kisan Andolan such as Chhattisgarh Kisan Sabha, Adivasi Ekta Mahasabha, Rajnandgaon Kisan Sangha, Hasdev Aranya Bachao Sangharsh Samiti actively participated in the programme.
Trade unions also organised programmes in cities like Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, and Raigarh. Candle march will be taken out in the villages in memory of the martyrs.
Sudesh Tikam, Alok Shukla, Anand Mishra of Chhattisgarh Kisan Andolan and Sanjay Parate, Rishi Gupta, Nand Kashyap of Chhattisgarh Kisan Sabha have informed that meetings were held at villages to chalk-out future strategies.
The leaders of the Kisan Andolan said that since the enactment of agriculture laws, there was no consultation with the farmers, farmers associations and even the parliamentary committee and the bill in the Rajya Sabha was passed in a non-democratic manner ignoring the demand for voting.
