A 33-year-old man was arrested by Raipur Police for allegedly raping his minor daughter.
According to police sources, the man was arrested on charges of raping his 7-year-old minor daughter in the state capital. Based on the complaint of the victim’s mother and the girl’s statement, the accused was arrested and produced in a local court from where he was sent to judicial custody.
The crime came to light late last evening when the victim girl told her mother about pain in private part and narrated the entire ordeal following a complaint was lodged with Khamtarai police station, said police sources, elaborating that the victim was taken to hospital and she was discharged after requisite treatment.
Based on the victim’s complaint, police arrested the accused, added police sources.
In this connection, police have registered an offence against the accused under Section 376 (punishment for rape), 376(2)(F) (being a relative, guardian or teacher of, or a person in a position of trust or authority towards the woman, commits rape on such woman) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under relevant Section of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, said police sources and further informed that investigation in the case is underway.
