A 49-year-old Christian pastor has been accused of abducting a tribal girl from a tribal village in Jawadhu hills nestled in Tiruvannamalai of Tamil Nadu. The pastor identified as Jayaraj was earlier booked in a case of misdemeanour with the girls who visited his home for tuitions.
The pastor Jayaraj, a native of Trichy, was running an evangelistic mission in the guise of social work while camping at a tribal village of Perungattur in Jawadhu hills of Tamil Nadu. As the schools were still shut in October 2020, Pastor Jayaraj devised a pernicious plan to satisfy his carnal desires. He gave a proposition of home tuition to the children. Since there was no other option, parents gave their consent to the proposal and allowed their children to attend home tuition at the pastor’s house.
But, as mentioned above, Pastor Jayaraj was allegedly misbehaving with the minor girls who appeared for tuition at his home. The girls complained to their parents and soon a complaint was lodged with the police, which gave a stern warning to the pastor and asked parents to stop the home tuition.
Amidst all the chaos, a 13-year-old girl had gone missing on October 24th and her parents suspect the pastor of kidnapping their daughter. A complaint has been lodged with the police, but the police still haven’t been able to track down pastor. Once the police raided a suspected hideout of pastor in Velankanni, but of no avail. Girl’s parents have now pleaded with the Tiruvannamalai Superintendent of Police to recover their daughter. In a brief search into pastor’s background revealed that he was married twice, but on both occasions, his wives left him. Police registered an FIR against pastor Jayaraj for kidnapping a minor girl and the search was still going on.
