Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan termed the incident of rape of 5-year-old minor girl by a criminal on Sunday night in Jhajjar city of Haryana as heartbreaking and condemnable.

Chief Minister Chouhan held discussion with Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar this morning and urged to provide assistance to the affected family and ensure stringent punishment to the criminal. The Chief Minister of Haryana assured that the accused will be punished severely.

The affected family residing in Haryana hails from Madhya Pradesh. A police team led by ADG Anant Kumar Singh, Senior Police Officer of Madhya Pradesh will go to Haryana in this connection.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that he stands with the affected family. He has spoken to the head of the family besides giving necessary instructions after a discussion with the police administration. Police teams have been directed to leave for Jhajjar immediately. Madhya Pradesh government has sanctioned an amount of Rs four lakh to the affected family as immediate assistance.

Chief Minister Chouhan informed the ministers about the incident before the Cabinet meeting today and the assistance being given to the affected family and said that all possible help will be provided to the family.
