State Election Commission issues orders

State Election Commissioner Basant Pratap Singh has informed that after assessing the present circumstances by the State Election Commission, it has been found that in view of the steady increase in the spread of Covid-19 infection and protection of public health, it is not possible to hold free and fair election process in the present circumstances.
Therefore in exercise of the powers obtained in Article 243-K and 243-ZA of the Constitution of India, proposed election of urban bodies in the month of December-2020 and January-2021, except Narwar Municipal Council in Shivpuri district (as per decision of Hon’ble High Court), will be conducted after February 20, 2021.
Similarly, in view of these circumstances, the proposed general election of three-tier panchayats in the month of December-2020 and January-21 will be held after the month of February-2021.
