A 28-year-old married man in Raipur was arrested on Sunday for allegedly molesting a minor girl.
A man identified as Shiva Rao (28), a resident of Aman Nagar under Khamardih police station, was arrested on charges of molesting an 8-year-old girl, said Khamardih Station House Officer (SHO) Mamta Sharma.
SHO Sharma further informed that late last evening, the accused allegedly molested the minor girl following which she narrated the entire ordeal to her mother. After discussing the incident with husband, the victim’s mother today lodged a complaint in this connection.
On the complaint of the victim’s mother, police have registered an offence against the accused under Section 354 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under relevant Sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, informed SHO Sharma.
The arrested accused was produced in a local court from where he was sent to judicial custody, added SHO Sharma.
