Trinamool Congress (TMC) goons allegedly attacked BJP Leader Suvendu Adhikari and BJP workers, who were on going to Janakinath Temple from Tenga at Nandigram in East Midnapore on Tuesday, charges BJP.
It was Suvendu Adhikari’s first visit to Nandigram after him joining the BJP. Adhikari was going to attend a religious event with thousands of his BJP supporters. Near, Bhuto Junction, Adhikari and his supporters were ambushed by TMC goons as they pelted barrage of stones and bricks.
TMC goons also vandalized the bus which was carrying BJP supporters, leaving several people including a girl child sustaining head injuries, alleged BJP.
Around 10 injured victims underwent treatment at Nandigram hospital. BJP leaders said some of their workers were missing following the attack.
Undeterred Suvendu Adhikari went on to attend and address the religious gathering. He said, if the attackers aren’t arrested, they will launch a movement. Many BJP workers also staged Gherao of Nandigram Police Station.
