A video of a mob of Islamists demolishing a Hindu temple has gone viral on social media. Thousands of Muslims could be seen razing down the walls of the temple and setting it on fire. The brazen act has invited condemnation from human rights activists from Pakistan and across the world. Karak is a mineral-rich district of the Pashtun belt.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), a Sunni Deobandi political party in Pakistan. Islamist leaders gave incendiary speeches and led a charged-up crowd to storm into the temple premises. They torched the temple and demolished it.
