Veteran shuttler Sanjay Mishra to be part of OSBA’s Vision 2020-24

Badminton Association of India (BAI) Chief Coach (Junior) and Chhattisgarh Badminton Association Secretary Sanjay Mishra from Chhattisgarh will be the part of the Advisory Board for the Development committee of Orissa State Badminton Association (OSBA). The Executive Committee of OSBA has requested Mishra to be part of the Development Committee of OSBA.

OSBA Development Committee Chairman Rajesh P Patil (IAS) has written to Mishra on December 29, 2020. The OSBA letter reads Mishra’s expertise and achievements in the Sport is well documented and will surely help OSBA in developing the sport of badminton from the grass root level in Odisha. “I would therefore take this opportunity to invite you to be a part of OSBA’s ambitious vision to develop badminton in the state. A confirmation in this regard will be highly appreciated,” Patil has written to Mishra.

Talking to The Hitavada, Mishra said that he has received the invitation of OSBA and happy to be part of the development committee. Mishra is also the Director of ITM Badminton Academy, Raipur.

When asked about Mishra’s role, OSBA Secretary and Development Committee Convener Nileen Kumar said that Sanjay Mishra has vast experience in the sport. “Mishra can help a lot in achieving our Vision 2020-24,” said Kumar while confirming that Mishra has given his consent to be a part of the Development Committee which also includes national and international badminton players.

As Odisha government is trying its best to develop the state as a Sports Hub, government has given free hands to the sports bodies to develop their respective sports, Kumar told this newspaper over phone.
