Trinamool Congress (TMC) continues haemorrhaging as no Suvendu Adhikari’s brother Soumendu Adhikari along with 14 TMC Councilors of Contai Municipality formally joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday.
Soumendu Adhikari was chairman of the Contai Municipality but was recently removed by Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Ministry in-charge Firhad Hakim. Soumendu and councillors joined BJP in the presence of Amit Shah. TMC had recently replaced Soumendu Adhikari with Siddhartha Maity in a punitive action after his brother Suvendu Adhikari left the party.
Suvendu has predicted that TMC led by Mamta Banerjee will disintegrate soon. Suvendu had said, Soumendu, councillors and around 5000 TMC workers will join BJP.
