Vaccine rehearsal undertaken on 75 persons adhering to protocol
Dry run conducted under ACS – Commissioner’s supervision

The Dry Run for Corona vaccination was successfully completed at three vaccination centres in Bhopal on Saturday January 2. The vaccination statistics of the successful dry run (in rehearsal) of 75 people selected for vaccination on the Covid app started appearing online after 11 pm.
Minister for Medical Education Vishwas Sarang visited the vaccination centre at Govindpura Health Centre and reviewed the process of dry run. He spoke to the persons who reached for the vaccination rehearsal and the officers and staff of the vaccination team.
ACS Health Mohammed Suleman reviewed the Dry Run after its successful completion and congratulated all the officers and employees of the Health department who operated the dry run.
The dry run was conducted at 3 vaccination centres in Bhopal. Vaccination centres were set up in Gandhinagar Health Centre, Govindpura Health Centre and L.N. Medical College, Kolar. Those who were to be vaccinated in these three centres were selected earlier. Along with this, they were informed about the date, time and venue of vaccination through SMS.
On the eve of the Dry Run, a telephonic talk was made by the Health Department team with the selected people in which they told that they knew when and where, at what time they had to reach for the vaccination. Simultaneously, the vaccination officials of the Health Department conducted surprise inspection of the three vaccination centres on the night of January 1 and inspected whether the arrangements made were according to the checklist and in adherence to the protocol.
The dry run was started from 9 am on Saturday, 2nd January, ensuring adherence to all protocols of the Covid-19 vaccination. As many as 25 people were administered dry run vaccine at each vaccination centre. At the vaccination center arrangements were made for the people in the waiting room, prepare for vaccinations, followed by other protocols including social distancing, handwash and wearing masks were followed.
The person to be vaccinated was tested with infrared temperature and pulse oximeter after which the identity of the concerned was verified and placed in the waiting room. Necessary messages regarding vaccination were sent to them.
One person was allowed into the vaccination room at a time, where the vaccination workers conducted the rehearsal vaccinations. After this, the person who came after being vaccinated from the vaccination room was made to wait in the observation room.
In the observation room, all persons were detained for 30 minutes amidst full protocol. The doctors’ team was present in the observation room with all medicines, to control any side effects. After about half an hour the vaccinated persons were completely healthy and ready to go home. A message on their mobile informed them about the first successful dose of Covid-19 vaccine being administered on January 2, 2021. This message is also appearing on Covin app. Similar message was sent on the mobile phones of all 75 persons on whom the rehearsal vaccination was done for Covid-19 in Dry Run in Bhopal.
Health Commissioner Dr. Sanjay Goyal, State Immunization Officer Dr. Santosh Shukla, State Cold Chain Officer Vipin Shrivastava, Deputy Director Medicine Dr. Padmakar Tripathi, Dr. Saurabh Purohit visited all the centres sand monitored the dry run. In addition to internal team monitoring, the Dry Run was also monitored by representatives of WHO, UNICEF and CHAI. Information regarding other necessary arrangements and protocols including drinking water was displayed at the vaccination centres.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has congratulated all concerned including the Health Department on the successful completion of the Dry Run (Rehearsal) of Corona Vaccine at three health centres in Bhopal today. Chief Minister Chouhan has said that we are moving at a fast pace towards complete control over Corona pandemic under the able leadership of our visionary and glorious Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Corona vaccine trials are being carried out successfully across the country and the work of administering Corona vaccine to the citizens will begin soon.
