About 37 lakh 63 thousand 735 girls have been benefited from the scheme till December 2020. About 2 lakh 28 thousand 283 girls have been registered under the Ladli Laxmi Yojana in the financial year 2020-21.
The Ladli Laxmi Yojana was implemented in April 2007 with the objective of developing a positive outlook among the people towards birth of the girl child, improving sex ratio, improving the educational level and health situation of girls in the state and laying the foundation for their good future.
In this academic year, payment of Rs. 39.06 crore has been made to total one lakh 53 thousand 917 girls who have taken admission in Class-VI, Class-IX and Class-XI.
It may be noted that Madhya Pradesh Ladli Laxmi (Girl Incentive) Act, 2018 has been implemented by the state government, which provides guarantee for the amount of money given to each girl child, so that the benefits provided to the girl child becomes permanent. Considering the increasing number of cases and procedural problems in the scheme, the scheme has been re-visited and given the form of e-Ladli since May 2015. Under this, online application can be made by the Project Office through Public Service Centre, Internet Cafe, Aaganwadi worker.
After acceptance of the case under the scheme, a certificate of Rs one lakh 18 thousand is provided to the beneficiary girl and an amount of Rs 6,000 each (total Rs 30,000) is transferred to the Madhya Pradesh Ladli Laxmi Fund for 5 consecutive years in the name of the girl child. The Women and Child Development Department pays Rs 2000 to eligible beneficiaries of the scheme on admission in Class VI, Rs 4000 on admission in Class IX, Rs 6000 on admission in Class XI and Rs 6000 on admission in Class XII through e-payment.
The girl child will receive e-payment of Re one lakh on completion of 21 years of age, on the condition that the girl does not get married before the age of 18 and has appeared in Class XII examination. The amount is deposited in the public account of the state government in the form of Madhya Pradesh Ladli Laxmi Yojana Fund.
