A joint team of police and 229th Battalion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), during search operation, claimed to have arrested a naxal from a forested area of Ittaguda Galgam.
Police sources said that the arrested naxal has been identified as Madkam Baman (26), a resident of Ittaguda Galgam under Usoor police station area.
The joint team of Usoor police and the CRPF was out to carry out search operations in areas under Usoor police station limits as part of an Anti-Naxal Operation.
When the security personnel reached Ittaguda Galgam, they spotted a suspect while the latter was trying to flee on seeing their presence. The security personnel nabbed him after a brief chase. According to information, the arrested naxal was involved in various criminal activities including loot and assault. The arrested naxal was sent on judicial remand.
