WITH the commencement of the unlock phase, people have started demanding resumption of passenger train service, keeping in view of the suffering they have been encountering with. Bharatiya Janata Party, Dalli Rajhara Mandal has stepped towards getting people’s expectations met as early as possible. The Mandal General Secretary Rakesh Dwivedi is reported to have written a letter to Divisional Railway General Manager South East Central Railway Bilaspur, demanding resumption of Dalli Rajhra Passenger Train. A memorandum in this regard was also issued to Collector through Sub Divisional Magistrate.

Through the memorandum, Rakesh Dwivedi informed that the passenger trains had not been running since March due to the pandemic. In between, passengers trains were started for some days but again on October 1, the service was suddenly stopped. With this, local passengers started facing difficulties.

Even in existing time of pandemic, the passengers are forced to travel in overcrowded buses in want of passenger train services. Recently a passenger train was also started from Dalli Rajhara to Kevati, which was proving very beneficial for the daily passengers but now after the trains have stopped running, the passengers have started facing difficulties in travelling.

Dwivedi further said that the central government had now started running trains and special trains have started running on the route. The local passengers are in need of the train and so the passenger train should also start in the route.
