Maharashtra Police on Saturday arrested a Mahim Dargah’s trustee cum Waqf Board member Dr Mudassir Nisar Lambe on the charges of raping a 33-year-old woman. Mahim Police has registered an FIR against Dr Nisar under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Victim woman, who is a social worker in Navi Mumbai alleged that Dr Nisar committed the heinous crime after injecting her with sedatives in January 2020. Later, Dr Nisar promised victim that he will marry her if she keeps the incident under the rug after she warned him of filing an FIR. However, he never kept his promise.
The victim continue insist on Dr Nisar to marry her as he had promised, but of no avail. Dr Nisar also reported to have threatened the victim of dire consequences when she insisted on marrying. The victim waited until October, 2020 and then went ahead to report the incident to the Police.
