As many as 13 shops, made up of bamboo, were reduced to ashes at Jaljali in Mainpat Janpad panchayat of Ambikapur when a fire broke out on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. The fire was doused on Monday morning by a team of fire fighters. However, no loss to human was reported in the fire incident.

Some of the local residents saw these shops on fire early Monday morning and informed the fire station.

On receiving information, fire fighters reached the spot with fire tenders on Monday morning and doused the fire.  By the time fire fighters reached the incident site, 13 shops were engulfed by the fire.

As per sources, these shops were made of bamboo. The self help group women used to sell their commodities at these shops. So far, the total loss could not be estimated but it is assumed that the loss might be huge. The reason behind fire could not be ascertained till filing this report.

The shops, which have burnt in the fire incident, belonged to Umesh Yadav, Painga self-help group, Kashi Nath Yadav, Sriram Yadav, Pranath Yadav, Surajmani Yadav, Nandlal Yadav, Bhola Yadav, Vishal Yadav, Bhola Prasad Yadav, Gulab Yadav and Dashrath Yadav.
