Hindu temples are under attack in Andhra Pradesh as yet miscreants vandalized an idol of Maa Sita in the Sitaram temple near Pundit Nehru Bus Stop in Vijaywada in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday. This is the third such attack on Hindu temples within a few days.
Idols of Lord Subrahmanya and Shri Rama were also vandalized in Andhra Pradesh a few days ago and an idol of Lord Hanuman was damaged in September 2020. As soon as the news break, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and TDP party workers held protests against the growing attacks on Hindu temples. Once again, police gave assurances of nabbing the culprits, but party workers were still enraged as the Andhra Pradesh Police has failed to catch even a single accused in the previous cases of attacks on Hindu temples.
BJP Andhra Pradesh Co-incharge Sunil Deodhar also lashed out at the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for his inaction in the cases. Deodhar also questioned the silence of CM Reddy.
TDP Chief and former CM Chandrababu Naidu had called YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, a Betrayer of Hindus” and demanded CBI probe. He questioned as to why CM Reddy hasn’t visited a single temple where desecration happened or even expressed solidarity with the Hindu community. Naidu said it’s totally wrong of CM Jagan Reddy that he can use his power to convert Hindus just because he is a Christian.
