Demanding basic amenities like potable water, road, electricity, school and other, people residing on Baijanpath Hill under Odagi block of Surajpur district in Chhattisgarh have descended from the hill and now settling in forest to register their protest.
To register their protest, the residents of village Baijanpat, Telaipat, Bhunda and Lulah, who were residing on Baijanpath Hill for the past several decades, under Khohir village panchayat have descended from the hill and new residing in forest close to village Kachwari, informed BJP block (Odagi) president Rajesh Tiwari.
The villagers were residing here in the forest for the past few days and planning to launch a massive agitation in support of their village and the party supports the genuine demands of people, added Tiwari.
Meanwhile, residents of village Kachwari raised objection over the settlement of people in the forest and demanded their immediate evacuation from the forest as presence of people in such a large number may impact the forest ecosystem.
After learning about the settlement of people in the forest, BJP block (Odagi) president Rajesh Tiwari along with party members reached the forest and interacted with the villagers.
