Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Chhattisgarh on Wednesday demanded an apology from Santosh Pandey, Member of Parliament, Rajnandgaon, for addressing striking farmers on Delhi border as naxalites and khalistani. In a press conference held at Raipur Press Club on Wednesday, AAP state president Komal Hupendi sought evidence which can prove that the farmers agitating on the border of Delhi are naxalites and khalistani. It may be recalled, the MP had passed the abovementioned remark on the farmers during a meeting at Khairagarh in Rajnandgaon district recently.
AAP Rajnandgaon district president Khemraj Verma on the occasion said that they had burnt effigy of the MP in protest against his remark. Verma said that he will wait for the MP at Imam Chowk in Rajnandgaon between 1 pm and 4 pm on January 17 and the MP can come and meet him with evidence which can prove farmers are khalistani or naxalites. Both Hupendi and Verma termed the remark as unfortunate and anti-farmers and therefore the MP should tender apology. AAP state secretary Uttam Jaiswal was also present in the press conference.
