Additional Collector Padmini Bhoi Sahu held a review meeting on Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana (PMAGY) at Collectorate on Tuesday under the guidance of District Collector Dr S Bharathi Dasan.
The Additional Collector took information about villages of all the development blocks of the district selected under the Village Development Plan, their social and economic development. She reviewed technical aspects and administrative approval of works sanctioned for the villages, availability of funds and demand.
After detailed discussion with the authorities concerned, she asked them to send progress report every month and completion certificate and utility certificate on completion. Assistant Commissioner of Tribal Development Department informed that a total of 68 villages have been selected under the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana, which includes 42 villages of Arang Block, 10 of Abhanpur, 9 of Tilda and 7 of Dharsiwa block. The officer informed that 20 villages were selected in the year 2018-19 and 2019 -20, whose work has been started by issuing VDP and in the year 2020 -21, 17 villages and 31 new villages have been selected and their VDP will be released in which 796 works of PMAGY and 1148 works of convergence are proposed in all the selected villages. The officer again that under the scheme, those villages are selected where the Scheduled Caste population is more than 50%.
The Additional Collector directed the officers of the concerned department to ensure success of the scheme meant for villages. Officials of Public Health Engineering, Electrical Department, Energy Department, CHiPS and other concerned departments were present on the occasion.
