Labourers planing full bloomed cauliflower plants in a field in Narayanpur

District administration of Narayanpur had come under scanner after its alleged attempt to mislead Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel was exposed on social media.

A picture of labourers engaged in planting full bloomed cauliflower in a field in Kerlapal Gothan in Narayanpur, a day before the chief minister’s scheduled visit to the district went viral. The Chief Minister had to visit to inspect Gothan Yojana of the state government.

The officials of the district administration tried to mislead the Chief Minister by planting matured cauliflowers in the field and showcase that the Narva, Garuva, Ghurva and Badi Scheme has been implemented successfully in the district.

However, the attempt of the administration to hide its failure in implementing the scheme went viral through the photograph on social media. The photograph clearly shows that the workers were busy planting full grown cauliflowers in the gothan field, a day before Chief Minister’s visit, just to show that the crops were grown in the gothan and the members are earning good income under the scheme.

According to information received, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel was on a two day visit to the district from January 9. During his visit, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel was scheduled to visit one of the gothan to see the execution of the scheme. The district administration selected Kerlapal gothan for the Chief Minister’s visit.

The administration a day before the  the visit of Chief Minister allegedly gathered cattle and put them in the gothan and with the help of labourers planted full grow cauliflowers in the field of gothan just to showcase that farming of vegetables is being done here and thus the self -help group members earn an extra income.

This photograph not only revealed the truth of district administration but also highlighted how the administration is a making a mockery of the government scheme and trying to hide facts during the visit of the chief minister.

According to Janpad CEO Ghanshyam Jagdey, he is not aware about the cauliflower plants as the vegetables are planted under the Horticulture Department.

Horticulture department assistant director Mohan Sahu said that he is not the incharge of Kerlapal Gothan and the responsibility has been handed over to the nodal officer of Agriculture Science Department, Narayanpur.

Aam Aadmi Party District President Narendra Nag said that they have demanded an investigation in this matter. BJP leader Jaiky Kashyap said that the district administration should probe the matter and reveal the facts. When contacted Collector Dharmesh Sahu said that he has asked the Horticulture and Agriculture department for an explanation and action will be taken after the probe is completed and if any anomaly come to fore.
