Durg Range Police will take on Sparsh Hospital Durg in the final of Inderchand Dhariwal Memorial Congress Corporate Cricket League being played at Netaju Subhash Stadium in Raipur under the aegis of Chhattisgarh Congress Sports Cell. The will be played on Sunday evening.
Semi finals were played on Friday evening. Winning the toss, Sparsh team opted to bowl first. Put into bat, Infinity Club Raipur could score 68 runs for the loss of nine wickets in stipulated 10 overs. Chasing the target, Sparsh team won in 7th over of the innings as Mohan scored 53 runs including 8 big sixes.
The second semi final was played between Rubber Industry and Durg Range Police. Rubber Industry scored 88 which was achieved by Police team in 8th over as Johny scored 49.
State Mineral Development Corporation Chairman Girish Dewangan, State Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman Ramgopal Agrawal and Haj Committee chairman Aslam Khan were guests for the semi final matches.
Earlier, Infinity, Durg Range Police, Sparsh Hospital and Rubber Industry entered the semi finals of the tournament by winning their respective quarter final matches played on Thursday evening.
All the quarterfinal matches were played on the eighth day, said Sports Cell president Praveen Jain.
In first match, Hira Group won the toss and scored 96 for 9 wickets in the stipulated 10 overs while batting first. Infinity achieved the target by losing 6 wickets. The man of the match was Atul Joshi as he scored 42 runs in 20 balls with the help of 6 sixes.
The second match was played between the Indian Dental Association and Durg Range Police. Dental Association decided to field after winning the toss, the batsmen of the Durg Police, who came out to bat first, scored 96 runs in the given 10 overs. Shyam scored 31 runs. Chasing the target, Indian Dental Association could score only 78 runs. Gambhir remained Man of the Match. The third match of the day was played between AIIMS Raipur and Sparsh Hospital,
AIIMS decided to field first and put the opponent into bat first. Coming out to bat, Sparsh Hospital made 85 runs. Chasing the target, AIIMS could score 63. Dinesh became the man of the match from Sparsh Hospital as he claimed two wickets.
The fourth quarter final was played between Raipur Mayor 11 and Rubber Industries. After being put into bat, Mayor 11 scored 104 runs as the highest contribution came from the bat of Zahid who hit 66 runs off 22 with the help of 9 sixes. Rubber Industries chased down the target in just 8.3 overs as Junaid scored 36 runs. Raza remained Man of the Match.
