National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers of Atal Bihari Vajpayee University, Bilaspur, in association with Punjab National Bank carried out ‘roko-toko abhiyan’, an awareness event, at Nehru Chowk to make people aware about Covid vaccine. It is to be mentioned, national level vaccination programme was launched on Saturday.

Under the campaign, common people were convinced to wear masks, maintain a distance of 2 yards and use the sanitizer regularly. The programme was launched at Nehru Chowk, the busiest site of the city, where Additional SP Rohit Baghel in his statement to volunteers said that this vaccine is an indigenous vaccine by the team of Bharat Biotech. The vaccine has been tried and tested and is fully reliable and beneficial. National Service Scheme State Officer Dr Samarendra Singh said that the volunteers and program officers of National Service Scheme cooperated as warriors in the Corona pandemic, their work does not end here but now this NSS family is cooperating with the health department. S R Kamlesh has given the responsibility to the volunteers to motivate every family to get the Corona vaccine, through public contact. S L Nirala said that NSS is constantly working to help nation overcome Corona crisis. Vimal Patel called upon the volunteers and said that they are the youth of the country who has the ability to change the fate of the nation. Therefore they should carry the responsibility of protecting the country on their shoulders, he told the NSS volunteers.

Dr Manoj Sinha addressed all the NSS volunteers and asked all the units to dedicate their service to the betterment of the country.
MLA Shailesh Pandey also joined the awareness programme. In this rally, the volunteers of DP Vipra College Mahesh Kumar, Bhavishya and Pardeshi Dhuri, dressed in as Yamraj, Chitragupta and Coronavirus, tried to attract the people and make them aware about use of masks, hand wash and social distancing.
The awareness rally taken out by NSS wing reached CIMS Bilaspur where in charge of Corona Vaccination, Dr Prateek Agarwal, Dr Yasmeen Qureshi, Dr Pooja Bajaj, Dr Pallavi etc. were honored by offering flowers for their significant contribution as Corona Warriors.
