Chhattisgarh on Monday tasted their first victory in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T-20 Trophy after losing four matches in a row. The senior team of Chhattisgarh State Cricket Sangh (CSCS) defeated Uttarakhand in the super over to register the first victory of the tournament being played at Baroda.
Winning the toss, Chhattisgarh elected to bowl first. Put into bat, Uttarakhand scored 167 for 8 as Jai Bissa hit 92 off 60 including nine fours and four sixes and Kunal Chandel scored 25 off 17. Sourabh Majumdar, who had claimed two wickets for Chhattisgarh in the previous match, claimed three wickets in this match as he conceded 35 runs in his four-over spell. Similarly, Subham Agrawal, Ajay Mandal, Parivesh Dhar and Vishal Singh Kushwaha claimed one wicket each.

Chasing the target of 168, Chhattisgarh tied the score for the loss of nine wickets. Vishal Singh Kushwaha scored 37 off 21 including four sixes and one four, Ajay Mandal made 29 off 12 including two fours and three sixes, Shashank Chandrakar scored 27 off 14 including four fours and one six, Harpreet Singh Bhatia contributed 26 off 22 including three fours and one six, Shashank Singh scored 19 off 25 and Amandeep Khare made 16 off 12. Mayank Mishra, Agrim Tiwari and Madhwal A took two wickets each for Uttarakhand while D Negi claimed one wicket. Coming to bat in the Super Over, Chhattisgarh scored 15 for one as Harpreet Singh Bhatia hit two fours and one six and remained unbeaten. Chasing the target of 16, Uttarakhand could score three runs as Ajay Mandal did not give room to play shots.
