Sparsh Hospital, Durg defeated its counterpart Police Range Durg to become champion of the first Inderchand Dhariwal Memorial Congress Corporate League Cricket Tournament, final of which was played at Netaji Subhash Stadium here on Sunday evening.

Winning the toss, Sparsh Hospital invited Police Range for batting. Police Range scored 86 runs in the stipulated overs. Chasing the target, Sparsh Hospital won the match in 8.2 overs. Mohan scored 42 runs for the winning team.

Chhattisgarh Congress Sports Cell president Pravin Jain said that Rs 51000 cash prize was given to the champion team on behalf of Dhariwal family while Rs 31000 was given to the runner up on behalf of Vir Sports Club. Similarly, Pankaj of Infinity Club was conferred best fielder award, best bowler award went to Dinesh, best batsman award went to Johny and Man of the Series award went to Dinesh.

State Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu, Industry Minister Kawasi Lakhma, Mayor Aijaz Dhebar and former Mayor Sarojini Inderchand Dhariwal were present as the guests of the prize distribution function. Mayor on the occasion announced that the road from OCM Chowk to Kotwali Chowk will be named after Inderchand Dhariwal.
